With March now here the steelheading has been more consistant with fisherman in all
the local rivers reporting fresh fish coming in every week now. Steelhead fishing
will last till end of April and then most of the smaller rivers will close in May
and June. Steelhead fishing has been good for the majority of our outings this year
with most of fishing taking place on the Vedder River, and a few other more private
rivers have been producing very nicely for us too.
On the Fraser River Sturgeon Fishing will also get better every day and the warmer
the Fraser River gets, the more Sturgeon will be getting on the bite. The oochlcon
will be entering the Fraser River begining mid April and the feeding frenzies should
start as the River levels rise due to the melting snow pack and spawning oolachon.
Sturgeon Fishing will stay very good till Nov. as more salmon enter the rivers and
also begin to spawn well into the fall.
